About Studio Hop     Born in Yankton, South Dakota in 1949, I was educated in South Dakota, Germany and Northern California. I became interested in pottery while studying with James Kanako at American River College in California.

I worked with several potters gaining valuable experience before moving to Minnesota in 1977. I moved to New London, Minnesota after two years in Minneapolis. I choose New London because of its rural setting.

Over the years I have been interested in Salt Glazed and Wood fired pottery. I have had several wood fired kilns, the last one being a 460 cubic foot anagama, which was designed by Svend Bayer and built at a kiln building workshop in 2000.

I make wood fired functional pots for daily use. My work carries with it various historical and cultural references, paying respect to ancient traditions. The pots invite you to use them, and be a part of your every day life.
